Remington Hotel Group: Hyatt Regency - Coral Gables, FL
SITUATION > Remington Hotel Group invited T&G to bid on a project for The Hyatt Regency in Coral Gables, Florida. T&G was the successful bidder for the project, which included relocating the hotels gym from the 5th floor to the 7th floor. The gyms location was a prime area for additional rooms as the pool is also located on the 5th floor.
ACTION > T&G was tasked with transforming the 7th floor of the hotel from a former General Managers suite to a fitness center/workout gym for guests. Additionally, three junior suites were created on the 5th and 7th floors. Multiple issues presented themselves due to the age and structure of the building. T&G worked diligently and provided exceptional resolutions to ensure all issues were addressed. As the job progressed, scope was added that included furniture, replacement of acoustical ceiling tiles, approximately 400 square feet of tile and cove base tile and addition of stainless steel throughout the kitchen. This additional work was performed during the third shift in order for the kitchen to remain open.
RESULTS > Despite multiple issues that arose throughout the job, T&G delivered a superior product that is aesthetically pleasing, safe, and up to building code standards. Guests on the 5th floor can now exit their room and enjoy the swimming pool, or use the new state of the art fitness center two floors above. Both Hyatt Regency and the architect were ecstatic with the outcome of the renovations.
