Greater Orlando Aviation Authority: Orlando International Airport: Starbucks Build-Out
SITUATION > T&G Constructors was prequalified to bid on or be assigned vertical construction projects at the Orlando International Airport (OIA) through a continuing services contract. Projects completed under this continuing services contract included concessions build-outs, such as the construction of the Starbucks and Fresh Attractions via HMSHost. Located in the Airside IV Delta Terminal, T&G was tasked with the build-out of an existing single tenant lease space, turning it into two complete restaurant tenant spaces.
ACTION > The challenging task was to be completed in one of the busiest airports in the United States while fully occupied. From drywall and plumbing to electrical and flooring, T&G had to reconstruct the single tenant space to accommodate the two restaurants.
RESULTS > Working within the high security environment of an airport is not easy - especially when that airport is an international tourist destination - but sequencing work without disrupting airport operations was achieved. T&G maintained a clean job site, produced a superior-quality, polished product and has continued to outperform on many projects for the airport since the completion of this project. Starbucks remains a hub of activity in the airport.
