City of Plano: City of Plano: Bob Woodruff Park Pavilion
SITUATION > Plano, TX has more than 270,000 residents, making it the ninth most populous city in the state. The City of Plano was seeking a commercial contractor to provide management and post construction services to construct a large pavilion for one of their many parks. The architectural plans for the new structure were designed to host various events and hold over 250 people. Site work and safety were important aspect of this process. T&G was awarded the job based on their qualifications and experience in the municipal construction sector.
ACTION > Every year, the City of Plano’s Parks and Recreation Division experience a dramatic increase in visitor traffic at the onset of springtime; This dictated an extremely aggressive schedule for the construction of the pavilion. Another key challenge was working through the winter months, encountering ice and other elements. T&G successfully met the timeline through diligent organization and consistent communication with the city staff. Long lead times were also required when ordering materials.
RESULTS > The City was impressed with T&G’s ability to work well with the Parks Director and their thoroughness in monitoring the project. and achieving their desired turnover date in time for their busy spring season. Due to T&G’s attentiveness in successfully achieving the desired turnover date, The City of Plano has requested them to bid on phase II of this project.
